Sunday Worship

Every Sunday: 11am

This service is held in the church and broadcast live on Zoom. This service is rich in music, and for special occasions we have a choir. On the first and third Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy Communion. We have a reputation for thoughtful preaching linked with social action, along with a respect for liturgy and Methodist tradition. After the service, there is a chance to chat over tea or coffee. On the fourth Sunday of each month, we host a full church lunch – you are most warmly welcome to join and get to know us!

For children: to accommodate young children, we offer toys and activities for children of all ages as well as young people during regular service in the church – just ask one of our friendly service stewards!

The live-streamed services can be accessed on Zoom up to 10 minutes in advance via this link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83816892647 or with the code 838 168 926 47.

1st & 3rd Sundays: 9:30am

At these services, we use the traditional 1936 order of communion, which was given here each week by Donald Soper. This is a quiet, spoken order of communion, based on the Book of Common Prayer. It includes a five-minute ‘thought for the day’.

2nd & 4th Sundays: 6:30pm

Our 6.30pm service provides an opportunity to pause to worship as the new week starts. We are currently meeting twice a month, with an in-person service taking place every 2nd Sunday and a Zoom service every 4th. We’re a small group who vary in age and stage in life. This service offers a more intimate, reflective and creative worship style.

Our holy communions are accessible for all: we offer non-alcoholic wine (served in individual glasses) and gluten-free bread. The ministers sanitise their hands prior to distribution. During any of our services, you are also welcome to borrow quiet activities and sensory aides from our dedicated sensory box. Read more about accessibility here.

Dedicated Services:

Observance days and themed services: These services may feature leaders from the congregation or speakers and preachers from other churches (such as St. Marylebone Parish Church), charities, and organisations. You can have a peek at some upcoming services of this kind here or scroll down to our preaching plans.

Café Church: This is a more informal form of worship that is focused on conversation and connection within the community. We arrange for tables to be set in the church so that everyone may enjoy a cup of drink and a pastry while we worship and converse about the morning’s liturgy or theme.

Pulpit Swap: We have a long-standing tradition of occasionally swapping pulpits with one of our Anglican neighbours, the St. Marylebone Parish Church. This friendly exchange involves a preacher from each church delivering a sermon at their counterpart’s Sunday Worship.

All Souls Service: Our annual memorial service, recently renamed the All Souls Service, takes place one week before Remembrance Sunday. We gather together to light candles in memory of those we love who have passed in the last year.

Soper Service: We hold an annual Soper Service to honour the legacy of Lord Soper, a prominent politician and Methodist preacher who served as the Superintendent Minister of West London Mission. Read about our January 2024 service here.

Church Lunch: On the last Sunday of most months, the church gathers together for Lunch following the 11am Worship. This is a great opportunity to share a meal and get to know congregation members and visitors to the church alike.  Contributions towards the cost of the meal are on an ‘as you can’ basis.

  • On the Sunday following the United Nations' World Refugee Day, Peter Cornick speaks on the profound challenges faced by displaced individuals and peoples, and contemplates passages from the Bible which might encourage us in our discipleship when we struggle to speak up and act.
