We don’t just want to tell you what Hinde Street is and what we do – we also want to give a space for our community to voice their own thoughts about what it means to be a part of our church, what kind of place Hinde Street occupies in their lives, and how the work we do affects them. This is why we are always gathering testimonials from our diverse and cherished congregation, invaluable volunteers, employees, group members, and the entire wider Hinde Street community. I am here in this church because…

I wanted to find a welcoming, inclusive place to worship.

It felt like the right place to be! Thank you! (I’m in London, in hospital, seriously ill – and a couple of months ago I discovered Methodism).

Your website is great and the work you do with the homeless in particular is wonderful and very much appreciated.

I am looking for community in Central London!

I came as a student 70 years ago and have stayed- who would leave?

I believe things could be different in the world.

I needed a bit of time together with brothers and sisters and our Lord before going back to my country (Italy). Christ has no nationality!

I want to be part of a space that is familiar, yet challenging, comfortable and inclusive but with opportunities to seek justice.

We are showing our son the church where we met.

Because of old friends and fellowship – and to worship together including singing Charles Wesley hymns.

I value being part of a community of faith and belonging.

Because I came here on a 98 bus.

I love to be with people [and a part of] their day and how they will be spending it.

I was received warmly on my first visit about 20 years ago. I joined with my whole heart and will not ever leave this church until death do me part.
