Hinde Street wishes you a happy Pride Month 2024!
Hinde Street is proud to have been involved in Pride since the 1980s, when a number of our congregation marched their way through London in solidarity. In 2024, we take part by not only continuing to attend the London Pride parade, but also by dedicating a special service to celebrating and reflecting on the inclusion of LGBT+ individuals in the church. This year, we are happy to have a special guest speaker joining us – keep an eye out on our socials later this month for an introduction to Sally Rush, Learning & Development Officer at the Methodist Church. Here are a few words from Sally:
“I am a Methodist local preacher, and Learning and Development Officer who is committed to Justice, Dignity and Solidarity. As a queer woman married to a trans man that includes ensuring that fellow members of the LGBT+ community know that they are safe and loved by God, as they are. To me Pride means being able to celebrate the whole of who you are, as a person known and loved by God and telling those who would seek to oppress you that you are not going to be made to feel ashamed of that.”

This year, we are also improving on the way we communicate about inclusion with you all. We will be updating our web-page about inclusion and looking into more ways to reflect our commitment to being an inclusive church.
