Hinde Street’s new organist

Hinde Street is excited to have welcomed a new organist! You may have already heard Chingyan play at our 11am Sunday Worship for the past few weeks. A skilled multi-instrumentalist, we are excited to hear more from her in the coming months.

You can read more about Chingyan and how she came to join Hinde Street in her biography below:

Chingyan Lo is an organist originally from Hong Kong, and she has been making significant strides in the field of classical music. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, with a major in Organ performance, from Baptist University. She is now also a graduate from the Master’s programme in Music, specifically Organ Performance, at the Royal College of Music where she studied under the tutelage of esteemed professor Charlie Andrew and Martin Ford.

Chingyan’ journey with music began at the age of ten when she started learning piano. By thirteen, she had added the violin to her repertoire, joining the school orchestra. In 2019, she discovered her passion for the organ. Her dedication and skill have led her to perform at notable venues such as Southwark Cathedral, Brentwood Cathedral, St. Thomas Church, Stanborough Park Church, United Reformed Church, St Paul’s Church, Bedford and the Royal College of Music. She was also the Organ Scholar at St. Margaret Lee Church, where she continues to refine her craft.

With aspirations to become a renowned organ recitalist and organist in the UK, Chingyan is committed to achieving excellence in her field. Her performance can be viewed on the YouTube channel under the name @chambiorganist. Check it out here.
