For Methodists, the 24th of May marks Aldersgate Day, commonly known as Wesley Day. We celebrate Aldersgate Day in order to commemorate a turning point in the faith of John Wesley as his heart was ‘strangely warmed’ and he was guided onto the path toward establishing Methodism. As we remember John Wesley, we may take a moment to reflect on the ways in which our own hearts are warmed by God, and how God guides us all on our Christian journeys.
On Sunday the 25th, members of Hinde Street and St. Marylebone Parish Church gathered together at John Wesley’s statue in his memorial garden in Marylebone. Thanks to all who attended this special joint service.
