Thanksgiving service for the first UN General Assembly at Methodist CH

On Saturday 18th January, several members of Hinde Street attended a service of thanksgiving to mark the 80th anniversary of the inaugural meeting of the United Nations General Assembly at Methodist Central Hall Westminster. In 1946, the church moved out for over a month to enable the 1st ever sessions of the UN which brought representatives of the original 51 member states to London. What a moving and poignant occasion.

“Grant us hearts of compassion, rooted in justice, that are ready to move from indifference and self-interest, to work together for the greater good” – Revd Tony Miles.
