On Sunday December 1st, King’s Cross Methodist Church will be celebrating their 200th anniversary with a United Circuit Service at 11am. Please note that there will be no morning services either at 9:30am or 11am at Hinde Street as we join in this celebration.
King’s Cross has a long history, dating back to the early 19th century. While the current church building was erected in 1825, it is likely that ministry began some years earlier. Since then, many changes have taken place; however, through the Lord, the mission of King’s Cross has never changed and the church continues to celebrate bringing glory to our God and to serve the local communities and visitors at the heart of London.
The Chinese ministries at King’s Cross were established by Rev Wong, a dedicated missionary sent from Hong Kong, with a focus on Chinese students. In 1975, our first Sunday Service in Cantonese was held. Since then the Chinese ministers had expanded to other areas of the UK, establishing various sister churches. An international service was also established in 2011 during the tenure of Deacon Paul Wayne.
We hope you will join us at King’s Cross Methodist Church as we celebrate and commemorate the gifts and lives of those who have come before us and pave the way for the next generation to join the life and ministry of the church in the next 100 years.
