Available Role: Service Stewarding
Have you ever wondered who opens up the church for worship on a Sunday? Who puts the hymn numbers on the boards at the front? Who counts the collection? Have you wondered why the ministers and local preachers look so calm when they come out to lead worship? It’s all thanks to the service stewards! Each Sunday the service stewards take responsibility for all the practical things which make it possible for us to meet and worship together. They make a wonderful team.

Is being part of this team something you would like to do? The more people we have on the team, the less of a time commitment it is for everyone. Ideally, we would like to have twelve service stewards for the 11am service, which means that each person would do it once every six weeks.
If you are interested, just have a word with one of the existing stewards, or one of the ministers. They’ll tell you (truthfully!) what’s involved, and encourage you to give it a go. We provide full training, an opportunity to work with a more experienced service steward to start with, and there are useful written guidelines.
