Our Team

Reverend Peter Cornick

(he/him)

Reverend Peter Cornick was stationed at Hinde Street in September 2018 as Superintendent to The West London Mission Circuit. He has been in ordained ministry for nearly 30 years and even attended Hinde Street as a student. As Superintendent he is responsible for overseeing work across the circuit which incorporates the two churches and social action carried out by Strides. He is the Presbyter at Hinde Street. Peter has a passion for preaching – the preparation and the delivery – and thinking strategically for the future plans of the circuit and Hinde Street church. In his spare time, he plays in a local brass band and enjoys walks around London. He is married to Helen – their son, Dan, is married to Ruth, and they live in Cardiff.

Deacon Ruth Yorke

Hi, I’m Ruth and I’m pleased to have been appointed to work with Hinde Street Methodist Church. I love this church’s passion for God’s inclusive love being shared with everyone. I am looking forward to getting to know the people and the context more as we worship and work together. I am also passionate about Positive Working Together, the Methodist Church’s commitment to creating ways of working and being church together which ensure that even the most vulnerable amongst us can feel safe and included in church life. I am sure there will be various challenges we will face together, but look forward to seeing how God leads us all as we journey together.

Richard Shepley

Richard acts as Local Preacher and Senior Steward at Hinde Street. He works with the other Stewards and the Ministerial Team in welcoming people to the church, preparing for Sunday Services, and also in trying to guide the church as we seek to follow the Way of Christ. The team present their thoughts and ideas regularly to the Church Council who are the decision-making body.

Elina is the Digital Communications and Outreach Officer at Hinde Street. She joined the team in May 2022 and is responsible for the digital side of things at the church. She often works in collaboration with Peter, Ruth, and the invaluable Office team, and enjoys helping get the word out there about all the great things happening at the church.
