DESCRIPTION:Immediately following the 11am Worship on Sunday May 24th\, the congregation are invited to join the St Marylebone Parish Church at the Charles Wesley memorial\, Marylebone High Street\, for our annual act of thanksgiving for the contribution of Charles and John Wesley to both of our Christian communities. It is a sign of our prayer and unity together. The act of thanksgiving will begin around 12:30.\n\n\n\nThe date of the thanksgiving each year is the Sunday closest to Aldersgate Day (24th May)\, which celebrates John Wesley’s ‘conversion’ or\, more accurately\, his experience of renewal in the Spirit in 1738. The name ‘Aldersgate’ refers to a meeting of the Moravian Church which Wesley attended\, during which this renewal and transformation in his faith occured. We commemorate this day as it marks an important turning point in the formation of the Methodist Church.\n\n\n\nWe hope to see you all at the Charles Wesley memorial this Sunday to give our thanks!
