MCH
Methodist Chaplaincy House is a community living place for a diverse group of students in London, providing them with a supportive and welcoming environment, with Christian ethos. Through the SPA programme it also offers the opportunity to be involved in the social work and mission of the church.
26 students live in the house, in the upstairs of a complex which includes Kings Cross Methodist Church. The students come from all over the world, from all faiths and none, they study at various places in London, all kinds of courses from dance to accountancy. It is a conducive place to study, with a friendly atmosphere which is appreciated by those who are living away from home for the first time.
The rooms are self-catering but once a month we eat together, three students cooking for the house. Imagine the international cuisine we sample! Various social events and discussions are organised throughout the year, including games tournaments, concerts and barbecues. We have prayers every week night.
Students take on different roles in the house, such as looking after the roof garden, taking responsibility for green issues, or overseeing tidiness.
Deacon Paul Wayne lives on site, encouraging the ethos of community living and Spirituality. Ben is the Centre Manager, he manages the day to day running of the house.
